Devon and Ian have known each other since they were in high school. Devon had a crush on Ian for a long time. In 2021, they matched on the dating app, Bumble, the night before Devon moved to Minnesota to begin a career as a travel PTA. Over the next 3 months, they continued to text and grow a connection.
Ian told Devon they were better off as friends since she did not know where she would be going on her next contract. Devon felt there was something special, and she was secretly ready to settle down back in PA, but not until she found someone to do that with. Feeling confident in this connection, she decided to move back to PA when the 3 month contract ended. Devon and Ian went on their first date just a couple of days after her return. She was very nervous after having crushed on Ian for so long. Instead of golfing as they had originally planned because Devon was too nervous for that, (Devon is a casual golfer, but Ian is a golf professional) they decided to get dinner at J Hicks.

Devon lived with her grandfather at the time, in the Colony at St Pauls. Ian picked her up from the old folks home, and they went to dinner. Devon had 6 too many IPAs, 8% and above, to calm her nerves, and she threw up in Ian's car on the way home. For the next couple of weeks they stayed in touch, planning another date. Devon never knowing this whole time they were dating because she was too drunk to remember she asked him their "status" the night of their first date. On date three, Devon demanded an answer as she was tired of waiting for Ian to ask her to be his girlfriend, and Ian responded "I thought we were dating?"
From this moment on, they were inseparable and best friends. 10 months into their relationship they bought a house together. People told them they were crazy, but they did not care. They have 3.5 cats, Arlo, Alton, Addie, and Shadow (he is still getting used to them, but he shows up daily to fed so they count him as theirs). They also have 2 dogs, Atlas and Mack.
They enjoy golfing, landscaping, watching the Steelers, spending time with family, and building their future together. Following the wedding, they plan to build on Devon's dad's property which has been in their family for 95 years, and continue on the Sernik Farm.
